Noted is designed to be. On Practice and Clinic tiers we countersign a Business Associate Agreement at checkout. On Solo, you manage your own compliance. On Self-host, you issue your own BAAs — we’re not in the PHI path.

On the production path, no — ASR runs on-device (Parakeet), and the hosted option runs on your Linode under your admin, never a third-party cloud provider. The one exception is the browser demo above, which uses your browser’s built-in Web Speech service instead — that audio does leave the device. The demo says so and asks you not to use real patient information in it; see Compliance.

Yes. Noted is video-platform-agnostic — it overlays captions on whatever video window you have open and listens to your microphone. No integration required.

Nothing. The vaults live on your disk (or your NAS) as plain Markdown — readable in Marco or any Obsidian-plugin compatible viewer, completely outside the app. Cancel Noted and every note stays readable and searchable forever.

Noted’s psychology corpus is built from open psychotherapy literature (arXiv, Semantic Scholar, Google Scholar) and refreshed nightly by a background agent. Every cited fact in a draft links back to a source.

It will sometimes be. Noted writes drafts, not signed notes. Every draft is marked as such until a clinician reviews, edits, and countersigns. The audit log records both the draft and the final.
